San Francisco Hotels

Published by under Uncategorized

Finding a hotel in San Francisco is pretty simple.  You can use any number of Google searches to find a list of hotels, or use one of the huge shopping sites to get yourself a great deal on a hotel.

Unfortunately, you are going to miss out on a lot of the charm of San Francisco by staying in one of the larger hotels which are commonly featured on those types of sites.

We’ve taken a different approach.  On this site, over time you’ll find a series of honest and reliable hotel reviews.  Unlike our competitors, we don’t fly into San Francisco for a weekend and stay at a hotel, we live here.

One of my great frustrations as a traveler is that it often seems to me that hotel reviews are coming in from people who spend all day in their rooms.  That isn’t how I travel for work and it certainly isn’t how I travel with my family.  Yes, we often use the hotel pool when its warm outside and yes we often eat breakfast either at the hotel or nearby, but I don’t want to have to eat every meal at the hotel itself.  The neighborhood that the hotel is built in makes a ton of difference in regard to how good of a trip we have.  If I have to run out to fill an antibiotic prescription at 2am for my son, can I do that safely?  Is it safe for my wife to walk around the corner for lunch while I have a meeting?  It is those type of questions which can only be answered if someone has actually stayed in the hotel for an honest vacation or business travel, not only to write a review.

You might be thinking, how do they rate hotels in San Francisco?

We have a simple process, the hotels which show up on our website are the hotels that we would recommend in San Francisco to our friends and family when they want to visit.

We’ll recognize hotels which are perfect for business travel (there are different financial centers in San Francisco, so we’ll point that out) leisure (we’ll point out hotels which are convenient to San Francisco’s great public transportation options including Caltrain, BART, the Cable Cars and perhaps most importantly MUNI).

If you have a suggestion for a hotel, please feel free to find out more about us on our Contact Us page.  We’re constantly looking for new hotels to feature in San Francisco so we’re happy for any insider tips we receive.

Lastly, we want to mention that San Francisco is a truly wonderful city to visit.  San Francisco hotels should only add to that enjoyment and not detract from the point of your trip, no matter what price range your hotel choices fall into.
